August 7th was such a wonderful day for the company, especially for our WCAS Center in Covington! THEY PASSED THEIR JOINT COMMISSION INSPECTION!! Great job, team! We are So proud!!

Fundraising Opportunity

International Thrombotic Thrombocytopenic Purpura (TTP) Awareness Day is Sunday, September 17th. Some of you may remember us sharing with you all that our very own Debbie Hill, Mammogram Specialist, her niece, Aisha Hill, passed away in 2020 due to TTP and her family created The Aisha Hill Hope Foundation in her honor.

With Ms. Debbie’s permission, we would like to share the flyer below letting everyone know of this amazing fundraiser. Between now and September 16th, Debbie and her family will be selling raffle tickets for an Amazon HD Tablet! The tickets are $5 each and the drawing will take place on Saturday, September 16th!

The Howard Center in the Community!

Bekka represented The Howard Center at the Ashburn Night Out on August 1st! She gave out over 300 bags full of school supplies to families in need in and around Turner County!

Recipe of the month!

Salsa Verde Chicken Casserole

Ingredients

  • 2 cups shredded rotisserie chicken
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1-1/2 cups salsa verde, divided
  • 8 corn tortillas (6 inches)
  • 2 cups chopped tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup minced fresh cilantro
  • 2 cups shredded Monterey Jack cheese
  • Optional toppings: Additional salsa verde, avocado slices, thinly sliced green onions and

Directions

  1. In a small bowl, combine the chicken, sour cream and 3/4 cup salsa. Spread 1/4 cup salsa on the bottom of a greased 8-in. square baking dish.
  2. Layer with half the tortillas and chicken mixture; sprinkle with half the tomatoes, the minced cilantro and half the cheese. Repeat layers with the remaining tortillas, chicken mixture, tomatoes, and cheese.
  3. Bake, uncovered, at 400° until bubbly, 20-25 minutes. Serve with remaining salsa and toppings of your choice.

Front Desk: Jessica CowartWe have been short handed in the front office and Jessica Cowart AKA Jay Jay has really stepped up! She is an MA at the main office and you would never know it! She has been sitting at the front desk all month! She stayed late many nights at the office. She walks with a purpose, and is always asking for something to do if she is not busy. She has jumped in with both feet and has not stopped since she has started helping us! THANK YOU JAY JAY!!!! YOU ARE THE MVP!!!

Tracy goes above and beyond every month but this month she has worked in both our Tifton and Covington office, she comes in on her days off to make the days go smoother. Tracy also helped us prepare for our Joint Commission Survey and really ROCKED our inspection. We could NOT have done it without her!!!
Manager: Niki PowellNiki is technically not a manager, however, she is a self appointed manager which is basically the same. Niki was one of the very few employees that came up here to work during the recent hurricane. She not only worked, she busted her tail getting health fairs scheduled for us. I’m so proud of her and since she is a self appointed manager….I am making her my self appointed Manager Employee of the month! Thank you, Niki!
THC Main Nurse: Rae WesleyRae is an amazing nurse! She goes over and beyond what’s expected of her. She is always willing to travel to the outline office when needed. We are so lucky to have her!
Covington Nurse: Janser SalterJanser shows passion for her patients, she is eager to learn and goes above and beyond. She helps with training and keeps the office running smoothly. We are so lucky to have her, she’s a great part of our TEAM!

This past month Kayla has stepped up and helped trained all the other Insurance employees. She has been a ray of sunshine for us over there, helping out in every department, not to mention, she also came in during the most recent hurricane to work so that we would not get behind! We are so grateful to have her as an insurance employee and definitely could not do it without her.
