HC Main’s Front Desk Coordinator, Destiny Gardner, got engaged to the love of her life, on November 7th!! Destiny, we couldn’t be happier for you guys! You’re going to make the most beautiful bride! Congratulations!
Amyie’s daughter in love, Andi Branch Mathis, was recently inducted into the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing Mu Pi Chapter on Nov 7th and will graduate from Georgia Southwestern State University on Dec 12 with her Masters of Science in Nursing-Informatics! Congratulations, Andi! And, congratulations, Amyie! We know that you’re so very proud, and so are we!

Helping a Coworker in Need
Our fellow coworker, Breanna Smith, and her family are facing a challenging time as her son battles an illness. They’ve set up a Spotfund account to help with expenses during this difficult period. If you’re able to contribute, your generosity would mean so much to them.

This Holiday Season, our hearts are so full, and it’s all thanks to our incredible team of Howard Center employees!
We are overwhelmed with gratitude for the generous donations to our 2024 Fight Food Hunger – “Stuff the Box” Thanksgiving Food Drive, created and organized by our amazing Business Administrator, Melisa Newell.
Because of Melisa’s vision, guidance and dedication and the overwhelming kindness of our team, we were able to provide Thanksgiving meals to 9 families in Tift and surrounding counties!
Together, we’ve made a huge impact—and that’s something to truly be thankful for this holiday season! Thank you, Howard Center family, for showing what it means to care for others our community!

Employee Excellence Award Winners and Our Shining Star!
Ultrasound: Abby JohnsonCongratulations, Abby, on being named the employee of the month for the ultrasound department! This honor is a testament to your dedication, hard work, and the positive impact you’ve made on both your team and the organization as a whole. We deeply value your contributions and the energy you bring to your role. Abby is always willing to help anywhere she’s needed. She travels to outlying clinics, jumps from The Howard Center to TWC and the mammogram department. Abby without hesitation learned how to assist Dr. Menya with breast biopsies. I’ve received numerous compliments from the mammogram department on how well she interacts with patients and provides them with comfort during the procedure and while performing breast ultrasounds. Almost every Wednesday, Abby does diagnostic day in the mammogram department and handles the stress flawlessly. Thank you for your commitment to excellence. Employees like you are what make The Howard Center a wonderful place to work, and we are proud to have you on our team. Congratulations again on this well-deserved recognition!
TWC: Shemill BanksI’m delighted to share that Shemill, our TWC Surgical Coordinator, has once again demonstrated exceptional dedication and teamwork this month. Whether she’s baking cookies, stocking supplies, or mastering the NST procedures for patient care, she has been a beacon of reliability and enthusiasm. She even took the time to decorate for our newest employee’s birthday, showcasing her thoughtfulness and commitment to our team spirit.
Manager: Melisa NewellI’m delighted to announce that our Employee of the Month is Melisa Newell! She made it her mission to ensure that people in need had food for Thanksgiving. This truly goes above and beyond, and I am incredibly proud of all our employees who contributed money and donations to help those in need during this holiday season. Our entire practice and office team have shown remarkable generosity with their donations this year. However, I want to give special recognition to Melisa for leading this effort. She encouraged others to donate and did an excellent job coordinating everything, making her truly deserving of this recognition!
Insurance: Raven HammockRaven Hammock is Insurances EOM. Raven has only been with us for a short time but has showed so much progress and initiative in the time that she’s been here. She speaks to our patients with kindness and understanding. She shows much initiative in making sure everything is noted and process correctly. Raven has added a ray of sunshine to the Insurance Dept. We greatly appreciate her and the great work she’s doing.
Provider: Kara Chestnut, WHNP-BCCongratulations to Kara Chestnut, WHNP-BC, for winning the Provider Excellence Award !! She’s the Nurse Practitioner in our new Decatur office.
